I have been so overwhelmed, running on very little sleep, and cramming endless amounts of information into my completely worn out brain since last Thursday. Simply put, my life has been the epitome of running dry. (I've even been sleeping on the couch instead of in my own bed because it's more uncomfortable and makes it easier for me to get up with the birds...) Weeellll, I woke up before dawn this morning on two hours of sleep so I could study more for an exam that I had a few hours later. Soon after, a very large wave of discouragement washed over me. And in the few moments that I felt like I was going to give up for good, my heart spoke to me. And this is what it had to say:
"You are strong for getting up in the morning when life just downright stinks. You are brave for doing things even though they scare you or make you anxious. And you are amazing for trying and holding on, no matter how hard life gets. So, with that being said, I sure hope you're proud of yourself. Because you deserve it."
Let's just say that so called wave of discouragement was washed away by an immediate and even larger sense of peace. And it's exactly what I needed.
I'm sharing this because these words aren't just for my own personal keeping, but for yours, too. So take them with you, my friends, and rest assured, knowing that all the studying in this world and the grades that you make do not define you. You have more worth in the eyes of God than you will ever be able to comprehend. Allow Christ to define you and enjoy the freedom of walking in His righteousness.
because of Jesus,
